INTERROGATIVE SENTENCES
Yes/no interrogative (หน้าประโยคเป็นกริยาช่วย,
มีรูปแบบคำถาม คือ Helping V + S)
คือ ประโยคคำถามที่สามารถตอบ yes ใช่ หรือ no ไม่ใช่
โดยตอบอย่างสั้นใช้กริยาช่วย (be, do, have, can, may, will, …) ได้
และสามารถสร้างจากประโยคบอกเล่าได้โดยสลับที่กริยาช่วยขึ้นมาวางหน้าประธาน
ถ้าประโยคบอกเล่ามีแต่กริยาแท้ จะเติมกริยาช่วย (do, does, did ขึ้นอยู่กับ subject และ tense) หน้าประธาน ดังตัวอย่าง

Wh-interrogatives (หน้าประโยคเป็น Wh- words, รูปแบบ Helping V + S)
ขึ้นต้นประโยคด้วย question words (what, which, who, whom, whose, when, where, how) และมีรูปแบบของคำถาม (วางกริยาช่วยหน้าประธาน)
ส่วนคำตอบจะต้องให้ข้อมูลตามที่ Wh-word ต้องการ ดังตัวอย่าง
เมื่อถามถึงประธาน จะวาง Wh-word เป็นประธาน รูปแบบ Wh-word + V (ไม่ใช้กริยาช่วย)

Question tag มี 2 รูปแบบ คือ
1. ประโยคบอกเล่า
(Positive) + , + question tag
(negative) = คาดหวังให้ตอบรับ
2. ประโยคบอกเล่า
(negative)+ , + question tag
(Positive) = คาดหวังให้ตอบปฏิเสธ
รูปแบบ question tag คือ helping V + S โดยใช้ helping
verb (be, do, have, can, could, may, might, will, shall, …) จากประโยคหน้า
ถ้ามีแต่กริยาแท้ (รวมทั้งการใช้ be, do, have, เป็นกริยาแท้)
จะใช้ จะใช้ do, does หรือ did แทนโดยเลือกใช้ให้สอดคล้องกับ
subject และ tense ของประโยคหน้า
และถ้า question tag เป็นปฏิเสธ จะใช้รูปย่อเสมอ
Pronoun ใน question tag จะต้องใช้ให้สอดคล้องกับประธานในประโยคหน้า
ถ้าประธานในประโยคหน้าเป็น this, that, nothing, little ใน question
tag จะใช้ It ถ้าประธานในประโยคหน้าเป็น these,
those, everyone, everybody, everything, no one, nobody, anybody, neither ใน question tag จะใช้ they
ถ้าประโยคหน้าขึ้นต้นด้วย Let’s (let Us) ใน question
tag จะใช้ shall we ? หรือ will you?
ถ้าประโยคหน้าขึ้นต้นด้วย I think, I guess, I suppose, I imagine, it is said (อาจมี
that) ใน question tag จะใช้กริยาช่วยของอนุประโยคที่ตามมา
